DIGITIZING 4 DIASPORA PROJECT
For the past few years, I have been in the practice of digitizing and archiving color negatives and photographic prints, and soon I'll be starting a community project to help other folks living in diaspora preserve their photos.
For many, photographs are among the few tangible connections to home, ancestry, and personal history. When families are scattered across different countries or have had to leave things behind because of conflict or resettlement, digitizing these images for me have meant finding a way to remember and imagine the importance of all that we've found significant.
